paddle board Chris BertishChris Bertish is an accomplished surfer, SUP (stand up paddle boarder) and motivational speaker.  In late 2016 Chris will attempts something never done before, a solo SUP trans atlantic crossing.  The trip will start in Morocco with a stop in the Canary Islands before heading clear across the Atlantic Ocean to the Caribbean and ultimately ending in Florida.  Chris has planned this 4500 mile trip over the past 5 years.

Paddling For Charity

With this amazing feat, Chris hopes to raise money for three amazing charities:

Signature of Hope Trust – Build at least five schools in some of the poorest regions of (South) Africa through Signature of Hope.

The Lunchbox Fund – Establish an annuity that will provide a monthly dividend to feed and educate thousands of children in conjunction with The Lunchbox Fund.

Operation Smile – Establish an annuity that will provide a monthly dividend to pay for life-changing cleft lip and palate surgeries for children born with this facial defect through Operation Smile.

So far they have raised 1 Million Rand or over $73,000.

Two Newest Cruise Ships from Carnival and Royal Caribbean Make Maiden Voyage Across Atlantic Ocean

According to Travel Pulse.com both Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Vista and Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas left the Mediterranean on their trans atlantic voyage toward their new home ports where they will become frequent visitors to the Caribbean.  According to Cruise Critic.com the Harmony of the Seas is the largest cruise ship and both it and Carnival Vista received 4.5 of 5 stars in their rating.
